Prosper was founded because we realized the current state of digital advertising wasn't working well. Having owned our own e-commerce companies, we saw first hand how existing ad platforms failed. Many companies rely on digital ads to reach new users, but very few of them ever see a positive return on their ad spend. We knew that word-of-mouth marketing was more effective, but realized there was no easy way for most companies to integrate or track their word-of-mouth marketing efforts. Prosper was built to solve this, and make it possible for any company to integrate and scale their word-of-mouth marketing efforts.
